Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Challenge: Patriotic

Happy Tuesday!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  My weekend was jam packed with events. I had 12 tweens sleep over my house on Friday night, for my daughters Birthday, and then on Sat, I had my sons birthday Party at an Ice rink with 22 kids.  Like I said CRAZY weekend, but a good one.
This weeks challenge is one of my favorites.....it's patriotic and I just love working with these colors!  I used on of Sherry Baldys images and turned her into an American Birthday Party.  What will you make for this weeks challenge?

Be Happy!

Happy Thursday!  I hope you have had a good week this far. I feel as though the week has flown by, hard to believe it's already Thursday.
Today I wanted to share with you a my newest journal page, and I have to say, it is my favorite yet. It is my favorite because it was done over time. Everyday I added something new.  That is what I love about journaling, you start out with a blank and really never know what it's going to look like in the end. This was a blank watercolor paper, that I covered with a piece of word DP.  From there I covered it with Gesso, and then added Dylusions sprays.  If you have never used Dylusions sprays and Gesso together, I have a word of advice, ALLOW drying time.  From there, I added cut out some circles, form a piece of gesso DP that I had previously done, and I glued them down to create the flowers. I did the same thing with the leafs.  I created the flowers with acrylic paint, and quick flicks.  The rest was done with black marker.  The background was created using Gesso, and Dylusions spays like I said, in addition, I a mix of rubber stamps, and some plastic templates, and when it was all said and done this is what I had. It went from a blank canvas to a colorful picture, with no rhyme or reason!!!
Well, folks, that is it for me tonight. I must get some sleep for this upcoming weekend of kids Birthday Parties.  Wish me luck!  Happy Creating!

Garden fairy

Happy Sunday! So sad to see the weekend come to an end. It was really a nice weekend. Saturday we celebrated my Abbey (12) & Ryan (soon to be 10) birthday with the family, and it is always nice to spend tome with both my immediate family and extended. The kids had a ball, and the weather ended up being lovely. Today, Ryan had a hockey game this morning and we hung around the house the rest of the day doing chores and such, but all in all, it was a relaxing day. With summer in full effect, I thought I would share one of my cards using the Blossom Fairy Avie images by Chelsea Le Design, that I got from I Brake For Stamps. As you may have noticed, I am a big fan of these adorable images, and I chose to make this card, because she makes me think of a "garden fairy", and for the first time in years, I have planted a pretty good size garden, both flowers and veggies, and for the very first time, I have planted potatoes, which I am super excited about. I swear the grow bigger and bigger by the day, anyways, Blossom Fairy Avie just has a summer glow about her and I just loved her with this DP....

Well my friend, I hope you had as good of weekend as I did, and hopefully you got a chance to get crafty.  I will be back this week to share some journal pages I have been working on. Can you say INKY!!! yikes, what till you see. Again, Happy Sunday and have a great start to the week.

Going Grey with Scrap-Creations: Fathers Day

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend. Over the weekend, Mary , Peggy and a few other friends and I went to the Heirloom rubber stamp show in Springfield Mass. We had a blast and I bought a few new toys to add to my collection (yikes)...
It is hard to believe that we are already in June, and as I look ahead, I am afraid that the summer is going to be over before I know it.  My kids get out of school on the 20th, and then we only have two months to enjoy the summer and they are back to school in the end of August....It sure is going to fly by...With that being said, Fathers Day is approaching, so we are challenging you this week with a Fathers Day challenge.  I have had this stamp forever, and it is perfect for a Fathers Day card for my dad, as I have always been "daddy's little girl".  I have to admit, embellishments for a Male card are always really hard for me, so I decided to leave it without any, even know that I feel like it is "missing something".  Oh well, my dad will like it and won't even think about embellishments...hehehehe!
Last week, you all stunned me with your gorgeous "celebrate cards for the challenge.  After much consideration, the TOP 3 are:
                                                           Jan R
Gro

A little piece of Summer!

Happy Thursday!  Happy it is, after two almost two weeks of rain and cold, it is sunny and 90....it really has been a long time coming, as we have had a VERY long cold and snowy winter!  Today I am sharing a little summer cheer with you, with this Little Birdie card I created. I used the birdhouse image by I Brake For Stamps, and some new DP I just purchased.  I have to say, I was a little intimated by the bird, as I wasn't sure how could I color it, but I think it turned out ok.  I completely love the flowers on this image. I can promise that this won't be the last time you see this image, as I can imagine it in every color, with all kinds of DP.
As always, if you love this image and want to purchase it, please feel free to use my DT discount code: SAVE10KRISTEN and get 10% off your entire purchase.  Well, I am off to soak up some Vitamin D. Enjoy your day! Happy creating!

Teacher Cards

Happy Monday and for all you U.S. people, Happy Memorial Day!  On this day, I would first like to say THANK YOU to all our military, who fight for us, I would also like to wish my daughter Abbey, a Happy 12th Birthday!  It is hard to believe she is twelve already.  Where does the time go? I can remember when she wanted toys for her birthday, this year she wanted jewelery, cash and Bath and Body works stuff...hummm...Today we spent the day in Boston enjoying the city. We went to Cheers for lunch, fanuel Hall shopping, we walk down Newbury Street and had cupcakes and then took the subway back to where we parked.  It was a really nice day and I think Abbey had a great Birthday!
So, today I want to share a card that I made, inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. I can't remember the last time a made a card that didn't involve stamping!  I used a sizzix apple punch, and an EK sucess boarder punch. Simple card and I made a few sets for my kids teachers for an end of the year gift!  I don't like to mass produce cards, but I am sure glad I picked an easy one to do.  Well, am going to enjoy what is left of this gorgeous day. Happy Creating!

Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Challenge: Graduation, Wedding or Anniversary

Happy Tuesday, it's kind of hard to say that, as I sit here and watch the news and watch all the devastation in Oklahoma after the terrible tornado.  I will continue to pray for all of Oklahoma and the families affected by this devastation.
With that being said, I would like to move on to a happier note.  This past Thursday, I took a class with  Dina Wakley , and boy did I get inky....I will have to share pics at a later post, but it was a great class and I learned lots.  Sat, I attended a First Communion for one of my very good friends son, and Sat night I attend a 50th Birthday party, and then on Sunday, I attend one of my LSS yard sale.  It was a very busy weekend, but a great weekend!
As you can see, this weeks challenge is Graduation, Wedding, Anniversary.  I decided to go with a wedding theme.  I used a great stamp from I Brake For Stamps, and you can find the stamp here, and if you love the stamp and would like to purchase it, don't forget to use My DT 10% code on the right side of my blog.  I just love this stamp....don't you?
Moving on to last weeks Mother's Day Challenge and the fantastic projects that you all created.  WowEE....you all are amazing. It is always so hard to choose the TOP 3, and this week is no different. It was so hard to pick this week, but after much deliberations, the TOP 3 are:
Donna

Jan R

Julie P
